Amy Weintrob leads the family law and criminal law groups at Hankin Palladino Weintrob Bell & Labov, practicing in all areas of matrimonial and criminal litigation, including but not limited to domestic violence, divorce, custody, removal, and homicide matters.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at Temple University, Ms. Weintrob attended St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, where she was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Employment Law.
Commencing her legal practice in Florida with the Broward County Office of the Public Defender in 1996, Ms. Weintrob spent her first year in the Misdemeanor Division of the Public Defender’s Office and earned the honor of Misdemeanor Attorney of the Year. Over the next two years, she handled thousands of felony criminal matters, managing more than 45 jury trials throughout her tenure with the office. In 1999, Ms. Weintrob returned to Atlantic County and began working at the law firm of Jacobs & Barbone, P.A. As an Associate at this prestigious firm, she continued her career as a criminal practitioner and also began handling matrimonial matters. In 2007, she joined the firm now known as Hankin Palladino Weintrob Bell & Labov.
Ms. Weintrob is involved in numerous community organizations and charitable causes. A founding member of the Board of Directors for the Alcove Center for Grieving Children and their Families, she served as Chairperson of the fundraising committee from 2001 to 2007 and has spent the last 17 years assisting those in need. She served on the Board of Directors of the South Jersey AIDS Alliance from 2005 to 2006 and is a member of the fundraising committee for the Matthew Bee Scholarship Fund. Additionally, Ms. Weintrob serves on the Board of Directors for the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Foundation. She volunteers her time as pro bono counsel for the Atlantic County Domestic Violence Program, sits as a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist in Atlantic and Cape May County, and has participated as the attorney coach for Egg Harbor Township High School Mock Trial competition in the 2008-2009, 2009-2010, and 2010-2011 school years. Ms. Weintrob has been appointed as Law Guardian in the Superior Court, Atlantic County.
Ms. Weintrob is a member of the Atlantic County Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She was appointed by the NJ Supreme Court to sit on the District 1 Ethics Committee for two terms: 2009 through 2013 and 2015 through 2019. Recognized as one of Atlantic County’s “Top 40 Under 40” by Atlantic City Weekly and one of New Jersey’s up and coming minority and female attorneys by the New Jersey Law Journal in 2005, Ms. Weintrob enjoys a Distinguished rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
